Joe Ramos

Joe has over 35 years of agricultural experience with the last 17 years specifically devoted to the dairy industry. Working primarily in Stanislaus and Merced Counties, Joe has served on various work groups as the local, regional and state level representing animal agriculture. He participated in the public process of the development of air and water regulations and served in outreach to producers and county and state water and air regulatory to resolve site specific issues or update facility permits. Joe also has served on the Harding Drain Advisory Committee as well as on the Merced County Dairy Advisory Committee, which assisted in directing dairy policy in Merced County. In addition to his involvement in the dairy industry, Joe actively farms in Stanislaus County.

  • Currently assisting over 200 dairies throughout California maintain regulatory compliance through record keeping and reporting. 
  • As a Certified Technical Services Provider, he has extensive experience working directly with dairy facilities, and assisting with the management of wide ranging environmental issues related to their facilities, including waste and nutrient management programs. 
  • Experience and expertise includes the following major services and activities:
    • Waste and Nutrient Management Plans (WMNPs) Including Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plant (CNMPs) required for Natural Resources Conservation Service.
    • Compliance Inspection Assistance
    • Annual Reporting, Recordkeeping and Sampling

    • General Facility Permitting, Including expansion projects

Vince Furtado

President

Vince has 25 years of agricultural experience in the dairy industry, working throughout Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Sacramento and Solano counties. He has served on various work groups at the local, regional, and state level, representing animal agriculture. His work has included the development of safety and biosecurity practices on dairy farm operations. He participated in the public process of the development of air and water regulations and served in outreach to producers to educate them on regulations and the impact the law has and will continue to have on their operations. He has worked as a liaison between producers and county and state water and air regulators to resolve site specific issues or update facility permits. In addition, he continues direct management and operations on his family’s dairy and farming operation located in Modesto, CA consisting of over 30 years of experience.

Jeanette Sawyer

Field Technician

Jeanette is experienced in the preparation of annual compliance reports for the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.  Accomplished in preparing clients for onsite inspections by both the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.  Currently conducting regulatory inspections and managing data collections for over 50 dairies throughout Merced, Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties.

Alex Riordan

Alex is a 2007 graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Environmental Science. Alex is a Fresno native, and comes from a family with a long history in Central Valley agriculture.  This history dates back three generations, when his grandparents owned a Walnut Orchard in Fresno County.  His father is a dairy nutritionist, and Alex is carrying on this tradition as a Project Manager for F&R Ag Services, Inc.   
 
Project Experience:
  • Assisting dairies in Merced, Madera and Fresno counties since 2008 to maintain    regulatory compliance through record keeping and reporting. 
  • As a Certified Technical Services Provider, he has extensive experience working directly  with dairy facilities, and assisting with the management of a wide range of environmental  issues related to their facilities, including waste and nutrient management programs.   Experience and expertise includes the following major services and activities:

Kristen Jones

Project Manager

Kristen has over 7 years of experience helping her producers in Merced and Stanislaus Counties meet their regulatory obligations. In addition, she continues to take an active role in the management of her family’s dairy and farming operation located in Stevinson, Ca.

  • Currently assisting over 70 producers manage data collection and meet their Central Valley dairies Regional Water Quality Control Board and San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District record keeping and reporting requirements. 
  • Accomplished in preparing clients for onsite inspections by both the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
